Angels For Hope

I joined Angels For Hope in January, 2005.  Angels For Hope is a group of over five hundred members that crochet angels and send them to people that have been requested through the Angels For Hope website.  They are available free of charge for people that are terminally ill, those that have lost a loved one, or someone that's just going through a rough time.

Here are some pictures of angels I have made and sent.

Here, I've tried some pastel yarn for these angels (solid and variegated).
My favorite angel so far probably is the white one trimmed in gold (far left).

Here are some of my patriotic angels.  I'm still trying to come up with the perfect one.  So far, I think my favorite patriotic angel is the one on the far right followed by the one next to it being my second favorite.  The two angels on the far left seem to be too busy done entirely in red, white, & blue variegated yarn.

I've come up with a new patriotic angel (Jan. 2009)
Decorated with gold around the wing tips and red stars at the bottom of the skirt and a red, white & blue ribbon.
This is by far my favorite patriotic angel yet.

These angels are done in pastels with two rows of white around the wings.  I think it gives the look of a choir gown.
When I add a heart and a bow, these angels will be ready to mail out.

Here are some two tone angels I've made.  The angels are made from white yarn with the wings and around bottom of angels done in a color.

I really like the look of these angels.

January 2009

This is my newest angel.  It is done with gold around the wing tips and gold stars at the bottom of the skirt and a gold ribbon.

It's been hard for me to find little red hearts.  So, I've made my own pattern for hearts using #10 cotton thread.  I think they turned out nicely.
